I grew up in Fredericton, N.B. and now reside in Nackawic with my husband. Our two children are grown with families of their own.
I attended an art class in 1999 at the library in Nackawic taught by Lynn Billings and opened my first tube of paint. I was hooked from the start! Without any formal teaching or background in painting, I found a way to express my love of scenery, churches and flowers. I had no experience or exposure to painting prior to these classes but quickly discovered a way to capture the wonderful scenery around me. A year later, I joined a friend who had enrolled in a class taught by Glenn Priestly, an accomplished artist and teacher. He has encouraged me and become a mentor and friend over the years.
My painting excursions include my summer camp at Lake George, Deer Island, Eastport, Maine and P.E.I. All of which afforded me opportunities to express myself with color and detail. I feel very privileged when I get commissioned to paint subjects that mean something special to people and see their joy when they see the finished painting. I still feel very proud of what I paint and have been lucky to have so much support from family, other artists and friends.
My paintings have been exhibited at the Palate in Fredericton, the Playhouse in Fredericton, the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown, P.E.I., the Eastport Gallery, the Fisher Library in Woodstock and the McCain Gallery in Florenceville. I joined the Fredericton Society of Artist three years ago and I am among many talented artists. We have two shows a year. I also joined the Plein Air Painters of N.B. and I am grateful to them because I learn something new every time I am around them.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my paintings.
