Janice has always liked to create but as a nurse, educator and busy mom, time was limited. With retirement, came the opportunity for Janice to delve into the art of oil painting. She is inspired by the beauty of nature and enjoys painting from photo's she has taken in her travels. Janice finds oil painting with its forgiving qualities and the brilliance of color both exciting and challenging.

Janice spends her retirement winters in Arizona where she studied a few years under Nancy Peterson, accomplished Southwest Artist. Janice is a past president of the Palmcreek Art Group and remains actively involved with the executive committee.

Janice has broadened her art to include other mediums: acrylic batik, pastels and & mixed-media. She has taken seminars on composition, light, shape and techniques.

Janice is also an active member of the Fredericton Society of Artists and enjoys the opportunities to participate in the memberships activities. She also belongs to the Turps Art group in Fredericton, N.B. She sells original art, professional giclees as well as prints and cards. She finds her painting and music takes her to “another place” where inspiration and tranquility meet.
