Anshu was born in India and has lived in different regions of the country. In 2006 her family moved overseas and thereafter resided in Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia and now she lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She is a self-taught artist. She started with sketches and water colours and graduated to acrylic on canvas. She has attended a few workshops for artists in India and in Canada to understand the intricacies of different techniques of brushwork and greatly admires the work of Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet.

Her artwork has been appreciated and acquired by acquaintances and friends. She has had two exhibitions in Nepal and also teamed up with an Art Gallery for contributing a percentage of proceeds from her auctioned art pieces towards charitable causes.

She paints directly on canvas without any outlines and many times she begins with an idea that she wants to portray and it evolves as she makes progress. Colours fascinate her and most of her artwork is inspired by nature. She paints in fantastical abstract and has quizzed her audience about their thoughts on seeing a painting, each person comes up with a different version of the same idea. This is what inspires her and motivates her to paint a new original each time.
